Javier Aguirre and Japan, a long-term relationship. The Japanese connection couldn’t escape the Mexican manager, even in LaLiga.
Aguirre, in fact, coached the Japanese national football team for six months between 2014 and 2015. He left after reaching the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup.
Seven years later, Japan is again in his destiny. The Mexican head coach is the new gaffer at RCD Mallorca. The aim? Retaining the spot in the top Spanish tier.
The Japanese connection is again there, though, because of Kubo’s presence in Mallorca. Then it was a good chance to say “hi” to all those Japanese fans ready to see him back on the bench.
